If we expect advanced aliens to know the natural number sequence then humans didn’t invent numbers, we discovered them.

If numbers are a human discovery then so are their mathematical relationships.

If mathematical relationships are discoveries not inventions then they’re natural laws.

1+2=3 is a natural law.

This is not insignificant.

This isn’t necessarily true. It’s entirely possible that some other population of life might have independently invented a system of enumeration which is equivalent to our Natural numbers. The fact that two distinct, non-interacting populations hold to equivalent ideas does not imply that the ideas were a discovery rather than independent invention.

The point is that we expect it to be inevitable.
